     This semester, I learned about what consisted of pop culture and what pop culture includes. I learned that pop culture is based on one big culture with many cultures, like a salad bowl with its ingredients. My Banff Trip ，作者 KiKi Su Banff is a small  town   surrounded  by lots of mountains and lakes. This summer was my first time in Banff, and also it is my first time being in Canada. On the first day, we had pho noodles for  lunch . Then we  went  to a Chinese market to  buy  groceries that we might need for the next 4 days in Banff. The article " International Cinema Creates Spontaneous Connections " by Ellie Smith is  about International Cinema, which is a program at BYU that shows foreign films. It consists of creating a sense of community among the viewers. The writer characteristics an interview with Marc Yamada who is the head of International Cinema. He talks about his love for cinema and how it can help people connect with different cultures and experiences. The article also discusses how one of Yamada's favorite directors, Kore-eda Hirokazu. Who uses physicality and movement to create empathy and resonance in his films. The end of the article gives an example of how International Cinema brought a large crowd of students together to watch the movie Parasite, and how movies can provide shared memories and conversations that turn strangers into friends. In this unit 3, I have learned about movie. At the beginning of this unit, we discuss the terms of movies like sequel, Academy Awards, etc. I didn’t know that we can call film as flick too.
